Notifications & Sparks

Purple Blossom uses two notification layers to keep you informed: quick Toasts for immediate feedback and persistent Sparks for things that deserve your attention when you're ready.

Toasts

Toasts are brief popups that appear at the bottom of your screen and automatically dismiss after a few seconds. They confirm actions you've just taken or alert you to something happening right now.

Examples of toast notifications:

  • "Campaign saved successfully"
  • "New community response to your question"
  • "Story synced with Google Docs"

Toasts are designed to be glanceable. You don't need to interact with them — they appear, confirm, and fade away.

Sparks

Sparks are the persistent notification constellation at the bottom of your sidebar. They accumulate throughout your day and wait for you — no urgency, no pressure.

Sparks collect insights and updates from across the platform:

  • AI insights — Suggestions from your AI persona based on your activity
  • Campaign updates — Stage changes, performance milestones, recommended actions
  • Community activity — Responses to your questions, new office hours topics, digest summaries
  • Learning progress — New content available, course completions, skill milestones
  • System alerts — Platform updates, maintenance windows, security notices

Click the Sparks constellation to expand your full notification feed.

Notifications Center

The Notifications Center gives you a complete view of all your notifications with powerful filtering:

Filter by Category

Category What It Covers
AI Persona insights, AI-generated suggestions
Feature New features, tool updates, beta invitations
Calendar Upcoming events, meeting reminders, schedule changes
Learning Course updates, new content, progress milestones
Community Q&A activity, office hours, group updates
Support Help responses, ticket updates
General Platform announcements, tips
System Maintenance, security, account alerts

Filter by Urgency

  • Critical — Requires immediate attention (security alerts, payment issues)
  • Important — Worth checking soon (campaign milestones, community mentions)
  • Normal — Informational updates at your own pace

Filter by Status

View all, unread only, or archived notifications.

System Notifications

Some notifications are special. Maintenance windows, security alerts, and critical account updates appear as persistent banners that stay visible until you acknowledge them. These are rare — we only use them when it truly matters.

Managing Your Preferences

You control exactly what reaches you. For each notification category, you can choose:

  • Real-time — Delivered instantly via Sparks and toasts
  • Daily digest — Bundled into a single daily summary
  • Weekly digest — Bundled into a weekly summary
  • Off — No notifications for this category

Visit Settings > Notifications to customize your preferences.

Getting Started

  1. Look for the Sparks constellation at the bottom of your sidebar
  2. Click it to open the Notifications Center
  3. Use filters to find what matters most to you
  4. Visit Settings > Notifications to set your preferences per category

Tip: Start with the defaults and adjust over time. If something feels too noisy, dial it back. If you're missing updates you care about, turn up the frequency.
